Tongue in cheek with all due respect to Ms. Miller…But I saw this on Twitter and had the same reaction Jason did this morning when I told him I wanted a supply of tampons for my emergency medical kits. If true, I’m floored. And some of that is because I’ve got not so great history with D.C. Metro.
I was threatened with arrest told ,”we can take pictures of people…not infrastructure,” for attempting to take the image below in 2011. Yeah, because terrorists routinely go about openly photographing architectural features with $5000 camera rigs. It’s a publicly visible space…I had every right to shoot it but, I wasn’t interested in staying in D.C. or going to court to prove it. I was pleasantly surprised to find I’d actually captured this image two days earlier on a previous attempt. Don’t know where that cop or any of his co-workers were a month later when some turd pulled out an AK to shoot at the White House. Clearly, so long as D.C. Metro and the Secret Service are on the case, you can be assured they’ll trample your rights at every turn but, they’ll never protect you. No, I’m not bitter at all.
